Chemical and Other Skin Peels
Microdermabrasion or DermaPeel/DermaSalt, involves surface abrasion of the skin with fine air-blown sterile particles that cause a superficial peel. Treatments leave the skin with a completely fresh, revitalized, and smooth appearance. The technique removes the surface skin cells, so there is no “peeling” afterwards, you leave the office with a healthy glow. We also offer Glycolic Acid Peels, and TCA peels or Trichloroacetic Acid peels, in various strengths. These peels benefit patients who have acne, acne scars or sun damaged and aging skin. These peels cause sloughing of skin cells thereby encouraging the regrowth of new cells. You will likely experience some superficial peeling and redness followed by scaling that usually lasts 3-5 days. Peels are usually done on a monthly basis.
Chemical Peels
We offer Glycolic Acid Peels which vary in strength, and TCA peels or Trichloroacetic Acid peels, also in different strengths. These peels benefit patients who have acne or sun damaged and aging skin. These peels are applied by Dr. Rebecca Baxt or Dr. Saida Baxt and then after a specific amount of time are neutralized. They slough off old skin cells thereby encouraging the regrowth of new cells at a more rapid rate. This encourages production of collagen to the skin, reduces pore size and helps to reduce fine lines and wrinkles as well as pigmentation and clogged pores. Depending on the strength of the chemical peel used, the patient will experience some superficial peeling which usually involves redness followed by scaling that usually lasts 3-5 days. Peels are usually done on a monthly basis.
